BIG BAD BEETLEBORGS… not really.

Pocket sized Beetleborgs doesn’t have a nice ring to it though.

Hardshell here was huge in the show but for some reason he only ever got released as a Cyberverse Commander and never as something like a Voyager or a Weaponizer for some reason.

Alternate mode

Hardshell is a gnarly looking beetle. His head and horns especially make him look freaky.

Transformation

It’s a pretty simple transformation but it just oozes creativity. I did not know how the transformation was going to go.

Robot mode

If that was gnarly looking beetle, this is a nasty bruiser of a robot. Hardshell looks like he’s going to beat you to a pulp and eat you.

Hardshell has a decent amount of posability for a figure this size.

Gimmicks

Seems as though the Beast Hunters Commanders all have pressure launching missile launchers.

Toy or collectible?

Collectible.

I thought Commander Predaking’s price was ridiculous but Hardshell’s is worse.

Closing

It’s a bummer that Hardshell didn’t get a bigger figure so it’s a good thing that this Commander figure is great.
