Much more affordable and slightly better!
That heading is a basic summary of what I think of this guy.
This is my first experience with this mold… like at all. Which is weird to think about since there are so many versions and releases of the SS Bayverse Optimus.
Honestly, the most shocking thing about this guy is how incredibly posable he is. Like seriously, it’s nuts. He has pretty much every joint you can think of and the range of motion each joint has is incredible.
Seriously, combine his excellent posability with his absolutely massive Energon swords and you’re in for a very good time!
While he’s mostly a 1:1 KO of the original figure, Baiwei added some extras to Optimus that make him feel that much more premium. He has added die-cast metal and he comes with alternate faces.
I… am just gonna stick with his regular masked face.
The QC on my copy of Baiwei Optimus is shockingly good. All his joints are just the right amount of tightness and all his plastic feels as durable as official Hasbro stuff.
To say Baiwei left a great impression is an understatement. I’m legitimately thinking of getting all of Baiwei’s releases.
Every single one.
I bought this guy on a whim and now I’m thinking about buying a whole company’s portfolio of figures. Talk about a spark causing a wildfire, dammit.
