Quick Look Review: Transformers Prime First Edition Deluxe Bumblebee

Rare Bee.

All the Prime First Edition Transformers are expensive. Optimus is a prime example of that.

So why is First Edition Bumblebee here? Did I blow some fat stacks to get him here?

Nope.

I got Bumblebee in small lot of incomplete Transformers… which unfortunately means that Bumblebee here is incomplete too. He may be missing his guns but he still gets a review!

Let’s see how he’s gonna Bee!

Robot mode

Bumblebee is looking super accurate in robot mode. In fact, he looks much more accurate than the second Deluxe Bumblebee mold that came out after it. However, this Bumblebee feels slightly worse.

A lot of things in his chest don’t peg in properly and like to come undone so handling him is a bit frustrating. Frankly, I do not care because he looks so good but I can see this being a problem for some of you.
Bumblebee has a good amount of posability. There’s really nothing missing except ankle pivots and wrist swivels… Bumblebee even has an ab crunch!

Vehicle mode

Bumblebee looks great in vehicle mode and feels nicely put together unlike his robot mode. The paint and colours also blow the Prime RID Deluxe Bumblebee out of the water.

It’s cool how much he compresses down into car mode compared to robot mode. Really feels like mass shifting in real life.

For playability, you can roll Bumblebee around and stick his gun on his hood. Too bad I don’t have it.

Closing

This is weird… I actually think that objectively the First Edition Bumblebee and Prime Robot In Disguise Bumblebee are equally matched. They both have their strengths and weaknesses.

If you’re going for a display piece, get this guy. If you’re looking for a Prime Bumblebee you can mess with, get the RID Deluxe Bee. I’m not going to bother hunting down a complete version of this Bumblebee but I will be giving him some form of weaponry.
