Knockoff KO Oversized Transformers Generations War For Cybertron Earthrise Leader Optimus Prime (T-01 OP Commander Red Version) Review

Stretching the dollar to an insane degree.

What have we got here? An oversized KO of Earthrise Leader Optimus Prime that’s been extensively remolded to smooth and cartoony like MP-44!

This KO has to have been made with witchcraft. Wanna know why?

Because he only cost $15 (RM60).

Now that’s the preorder price and PO prices are always noticeably lower than what you’d pay at retail… but come on dude. This is just bananas.

$15 to maybe $20 for a Masterpiece scale Optimus Prime?

Actually, he’s bigger than MP scale since he’s about the same size as MP01 or Wei Jiang’s MPP10.

T-01 over here is being pushed as a budget alternative to all the 3rd party MP Optimus figures out there and he mostly works for that purpose.

He looks the part in robot mode, almost poses well enough to compete with other MPs and his truck mode… is okay.

While his head looks a bit off, everything else in robot mode looks damn near perfect. Even then, his head looks better in real life than it does in pictures. The remolding they did here is crazy.

He has almost all of the Earthrise figure’s articulation which means he poses real nice for the most part. But for some reason, when they remolded the head, they only kept his head rotation. He can’t look up and down anymore.

And his truck mode… is a mixed bag. The front looks great but the back… is a bit of a mess. The proportions of his tanks and wheels just throws you off man.

Oh right, for accessories Optimus comes with his blaster, axe and the Matrix. The gun and Matrix look great even though he struggles to hold them securely… but his Energon can’t be plugged into his arm which means he has to hold it like a regular axe.

That’s just wrong.

You know what this guy reminds me of? That chunky boi Beast Hunters Optimus I reviewed some time ago. This is that but going way, way beyond.

The amount of Optimus you get for the price you pay here is nuts. Even if he is pretty light and kinda creaky, the fact that he’s bigger this good for this price is incredible.

Get a version of this mold. If you have too many G1 Optimus Primes in your collection, there’s a bunch of repaints of this guy already available too.

Seriously, get one just to experience it.
