He’s big and surprisingly not a complete brick.
Happy New Year 2023! Let’s start off with this random Bumblebee I got second-hand!
Mighty Mighties are an interesting toyline. They’re reasonably priced, big and simple action figures that are meant to be durable as well as cute. They have Avengers and Transformers characters in their lineup… so of course there’s a Bumblebee figure.
Robot mode

Bumblebee is looking super stylised and incredibly cute. His headsculpt makes him look like a cuddly yellow teddy bear. He has a surprisingly high amount of molded detail and paint apps.
I really like that they made the Autobot logo raised and that they painted his shoulders, chest and thighs so well.
He doesn’t have that much posability but it’s more than you’d expect and it’s just enough to make him very expressive. He has a ball-jointed head, ball-jointed shoulders and a swiveling waist.
Gimmicks
The gimmick is that Bumblebee’s big and durable while being fun as well as safe for a younger kid to handle. He does all of that well while not being too hard on the wallet. He even has a surprising amount of posability on top of that!
He also has holes in his hands and back that can fit 5mm pegs. However, mine seems to only be able to hold accessories loosely. That might be a QC issue on my copy.
Toy or collectible?
Bumblebee’s a kid’s toy. There’s no debating that and for the price he’s sold for at retail, he’s pretty great value. He usually goes for RM50 ($13) to RM60 ($15) but you can find him on sale for less and you can get him for much less second-hand.
I got him loose for RM20.
Closing
For the even his price at retail stores, I think Bumblebee is a great toy. For the price I paid, he’s incredible. He’s a cute looking and fun action figure that’s great for kids.
But that’s if you don’t mind your Transformers not transforming.
