One-inch punch.
Optimus was described as a fist on wheels; that’s how he looked like in the Fall Of Cybertron game and it was awesome. The toy that came out at the same time… didn’t look as awesome, so I didn’t get it.
Until now that is! Optimus here was RM20 ($5) because he was missing his gun and front bumper so I just had to bring him home. Let’s see if I was wrong about him all those years ago.
Robot mode

Optimus looks good but feels small. Like, he looked average at best in pictures but in person he genuinely looks good. It’s just he’s so small.
He’s super detailed but doesn’t have much paint and I can’t pinpoint why but that just makes him feel smaller in hand as well as in pictures. That’s weird because he’s about the size of a newer Deluxe class from nowadays.
I did not expect this but Optimus has incredible posability. Legit, Optimus puts some Siege figures to shame and he came out in 2012. He has an arching back for Primus’s sake.
Vehicle mode

Yup, Optimus is a fist on wheels.
I’d also describe it as a brick on wheels since he’s red and dense looking. But once again, Optimus feels way too small and he feels even smaller now since he compresses down quite a bit in vehicle mode. Molded detailing is plentiful here but not much of it is picked out by paint.
Optimus can roll well on all six of his wheels. You can also load him up with a bunch of weapons via his 5mm ports.
Closing
Optimus is actually pretty great. It’s just that this design needs to be bigger and this Optimus is just small. I wholeheartedly recommend you pick this guy up but I also really want a bigger take on this design.
Also, while I don’t care about finding a copy of the gun he actually came with, I do want to get him a massive cannon or axe to arm him up. Optimus deserves it.
