Knockoff KO Undersized Transformers Generations Age Of Extinction First Edition Optimus Prime Review

Counterfeit silver.

Now this is a decadent looking set. A chromed out trailer and a chromed out knight who turns into a truck. Shiny, shiny, shiny.

Now, I said that the AOE First Edition Optimus wasn’t a great Transformer. In fact, he was trash for his size and trash. But somehow, he works way better at Voyager size.

I say Voyager size but Optimus’s on the tall side for that spectrum. He’s about as tall and as dense as the Unicron Trilogy era Voyagers. While this is good value for money, it means the scaling is just slightly off with AOE Voyager Galvatron.

Huh. Come to think of it, Optimus here might be closer in height to the newer Leader Transformers.

Optimus feels like he was meant to be Voyager sized. His articulation and transformation make much more sense at this scale. Also, they chose to improve this KO by giving him a head with a faceplate and the improved weapons from the newer Leader Optimus Primes.

I originally got this set because I wanted a Voyager scaled trailer and it was 50% off which meant everything only cost me RM40 ($10). But I ended up enjoying the Prime way more than I thought I would. I’m super happy I ended up with this set.

Now that I think about it, I may have another KO AOE FE Optimus lying around somewhere…
