Quick Look Review: Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Battlemaster Talking Bumblebee

The Devil Hunter.

A Bumblebee that talks? Sacrilege!

A Bumblebee that has the voice of Johny Young Bosch? The voice of Ichigo Kurosaki and Nero the Devil Hunter? SIGN ME RIGHT UP BROTHER.

I got Talking Bumblebee here cheap cause he’s missing all his weapons and a wheel. Also, he doesn’t seem to have all his voice clips so I’m not sure if this is Talking Bumblebee or SFX Bumblebee.

Robot mode

Bumblebee is pretty huge in robot mode and I’m not just talking about the fact that he’s Leader sized. He’s very beefy with a huge chest and arms. It’s a good look honestly and the fact that he’s painted nicely doesn’t hurt.

What does hurt him is his vehicle mode kibble and especially his faux-vehicle mode kibble. If you count his real wheels and his fake wheels, altogether there are eight. His head’s nice looking though, smirks are always full of personality.

Bumblebee is surprisingly posable. He’s really only missing a waist swivel and movement at the feet as well as maybe the hands.

Vehicle mode

Bumblebee seems to be the opposite of the Weaponizer Optimus. What I mean is that Bumblebee has a somewhat compromised robot mode but a nicely done vehicle mode. The car mode looks great with no obvious gaps or kibble and a very nicely done colour scheme.

Not much to do here though. His wheels roll and you can activate the voice clips in vehicle mode.

Closing

I’ll be honest, I wanted this Bumblebee solely because he’s voiced by Johny Young Bosch. It’s a pleasant surprise that he’s a pretty decent Transformer. With some tweaks to the design he could have been great.

I’m so happy with Talking Bumblebee that I’m gonna get myself a Weaponizer Bumblebee when I get the chance.
