Transformers Cyberverse Scout Megatron Review

Sit down and take a break.

So we’re taking a look at another Cyberverse Scout! Because we all loved the first one we looked at.

We took a look at the Cyberverse Warrior Megatron earlier. Now we’re gonna take a look at his smaller, “special” counterpart.

Robot mode

Megatron’s looking… kinda stumpy. Like his chest and head look fine but the arms look disproportionately humongous. The legs meanwhile are incredibly stubby.

He’s not terrible looking but he does look odd. And this is supposed to be the normal looking mode. Also, Megatron’s got no fusion cannon but he’s got 5mm holes in his fists so that he can arm himself up.

Megatron has barely any posability. His arms rotate at the shoulders and his legs rotate at the hips. He can rotate at the waist but it locks in two positions only due to the action gimmick.

Transformation

Sit Megatron down and flip out the tank treads. Turn his waist to the side till it locks into place.

That’s it.

You’re done and that’s all the vehicle mode you’re gonna get.

“Vehicle” mode

I was pretty critical of Warrior Megatron in tank mode but this “tank” makes that tank look like a Masterpiece in comparison. This is legit just Megatron sitting down to get some rest. It’s nuts that anyone thought this was a good idea.

For playability, there’s his action gimmick and he can roll thanks to the three wheels on the underside of the “tank”.

Gimmick

Press the left tank tread flap in and Megatron whips out his FUSION MACE. It’s actually a pretty fun gimmick to mess around with cause it’s impressive how fast he spins and whips out his FUSION MACE.

He has one up on Optimus. Megatron can activate the FUSION MACE gimmick in robot mode by pressing the trigger in robot mode. I stand by the fact that if the Scouts were just posable robots with action gimmicks they would be a lot better.

Toy or collectible?

Uh… neither.

I can neither recommend this to a child as a toy or an adult collector as a collectible. The only people who’d buy the Cyberverse Scouts are people who are sick in the head and enjoy heinous abominations.

Kinda like the people who watched the Cats movie.

Closing

While it’s nice that Optimus has company, I really don’t see any good reason for anyone to want Megatron. I enjoy playing with Megatron but that’s because I enjoy terrible things.

Like the Cats movie.

That is the takeaway of this review. The Cyberverse Scouts and the Cats movie exist on the same spectrum of horrible.
