Knockoff KO Undersized Transformers Masterpiece MP10 Optimus Prime (KBB MP-10 V) Review

Middle management Prime.

With the Earthrise Optimus Prime upon us, it’s time to look at the true king of the G1/CHUG Optimus Primes!

I love the thought process here. Why bother designing a new Optimus to fit in with the smaller CHUG figures? Just take the best G1 Optimus currently available and downsize it to Voyager! Hey presto, we got KBB MP10-V!

Now what’s interesting is this isn’t a straight downsizing of MP10. This is a downsizing of another KO, the Wei Jiang MPP10. The Wei Jiang KO had modifications done to the legs to improve the proportions of MP10. They made the lower legs slightly longer. MP10-V therefore also has better proportioned legs. In addition to that, they added a lot of extra die-cast parts to MP10-V as well as more paint apps.

They omitted the trailer for MP10-V but they also added some stuff to compensate. He’s got a jetpack, a sword and two extra heads in addition to the gun/sword combo. Unfortunately, mine came missing the gun. I’m in the process of getting a replacement.

Honestly, the only complaint against MP10-V I have is that he looks out of place with most CHUG figures. He looks too good. But as far as complaints go, that’s a good one to have against you.
