Quick Look Review: Transformers Generations Age Of Extinction Voyager Slog Review

Skullgreymon.

Slog didn’t appear in Age Of Extinction or The Last Knight which is a shame.

More Dinobots = More fun = Better movies!

Alas, it was not meant to be…

Anyway, Slog is another incomplete dino I got from that lot of cheap incomplete dinos. He’s missing his big lances.

Robot mode

Slog has a robot mode that makes me confused. He somehow feels both massive for a Voyager and at the same time too small. He definitely looks like the brute of the Dinobots. Ironically enough for an off-screen Dinobot, among the first release of the AOE Dinobots, Slog probably has what would have been the most screen accurate paint job. Grey with red highlights.

Like Slug and Voyager Grimlock, Slog has more posability than I thought he’d have. He’s got a waist joint and ball-jointed head even! The problem is that he has the dreaded curling arms. If you want to bend his elbows, his hands are always in the curling position since he has no wrist articulation. A bummer for sure but not the end of the world.

Alternate mode

The dinosaur mode looks great. But he doesn’t peg together. It’s fine for now but I can see Slog getting floppy in the future. Oh well, for now he’s a good looking leaf eater dino. There’s no visible robot mode kibble and he’s a convincing (alien) dino from all angles.

For posability, Slog has pretty little in dino mode. His neck and head are pretty expressive though. He has three joints in his neck and his mouth opens.

Closing

Slog is another surprise. Among the Age Of Extinction Transformers, I pretty much thought only Evasion Optimus and Voyager Grimlock were of any interest. Maybe Galvatron. But Slog here is a great Transformer. Apart from the not pegging together.

I’ll get his lances at some point but I’m really hoping for a bigger Slog at some point. Whether it’s done by Hasbro or a 3rd party, we’ll see.
