Greatest Scout ever.
Let me preface this by saying that I do not have every Scout Transformer ever released.
Handling Breacher, I really don’t think there’s gonna be anyone better.
Hubcap is runner up to the title and it isn’t a big gap between the two. But Breacher is just so good.
Vehicle mode

Breacher starts out incredibly strong with a great APC mode. Something this size has no business looking this good. Molded detail and paint apps are plentiful and highly appreciated.
Breacher does quite a bit more than the average Bayverse Scout figure. He rolls well on all six wheels to start with but guess what? Breacher has a fully articulated turret! It rotates 360° and can aim up and down! So satisfying.
Transformation
Okay, this is either a good thing or a bad thing depending on your preferences. Breacher is complex.
He’s probably more complex than most Generations Voyagers out these days. It’s certainly impressive but I do enjoy a quick transformation. You have to take your time with Breacher.
Robot mode

Now this is an beautiful robot mode. Breacher is the perfect balance between Bayverse super detailing and Generations strong blocks. He was basically the Knight Bumblebee aesthetic before it was an aesthetic. His head is what shows this best. It’s also very detailed for a headsculpt this small.
Among the Bayverse Scouts, Breacher is the only one that comes with a removable weapon. At least I think? Anyway, it’s the cannon from his turret and it attaches via 3mm clips. What’s neat is the clip to parts on Breacher’s fist are placed such that they look like brass knuckles when not in use. The gun can clip onto a lot of places on Breacher so you got a ton of options there.
Breacher is also very posable. Like he’s got more articulation than some of the Leaders that came out at the same time as him. His head is on a ball joint. His shoulders are on a ball joint and have an extra joint. The extra joint lets the arms go in and out at the shoulders. He has ball-jointed elbows and hands. He has a waist swivel. His legs are ball-jointed at the hips, have hinge knees and have ball-jointed feet.
The only problems Breacher has in robot mode are his lack of thigh swivels and the butt flap. The thigh swivels were probably omitted to not compromise Breacher’s durability unfortunately. The butt flap doesn’t bug me cause you can position it to suit the pose you have him in. Also, it’s not that big.
Toy or collectible?
Collectible. Dear Primus, collectible.
MISB, I’ve seen Breacher successfully sold for RM250 ($63). Loose and complete, the cheapest I’ve seen him sold is RM120 ($40). I can understand why but it’s still completely insane.
Don’t give him to a kid. He’s rare and super sought after. It’d be a waste.
I’m showing off here but guess how much I got Breacher for back in 2012. I got him for RM20 loose. Ahahahaha.
Closing
Breacher is expensive, that’s true.
However he’s also an outstanding Transformer. His transformation is probably more complex and effective than some Leader Transformers. His robot and APC modes are also damn near perfect. I honestly think there’d be no problem upsizing this guy to modern Leader size. I know I’d buy an OSKO of Breacher.
If you’ve got the extra cash, Breacher is definitely a Transformer you should splurge on.
