You’re probably thinking what even is this?

I’ll tell you what. It’s an AOE/TLK Grimlock that can fold into an egg for easy carrying. That’s what this is.

I wasn’t aware of it at first but there’s a line of toys by Bandai called “Hatch ‘n Heroes”. They’re basically eggs that turn into various licensed characters. Why? Ease of storage apparently. It’s actually a pretty smart idea.

There’s a massive amount of KOs of the Hatch ‘n Heroes toys. They can be bought pretty much everywhere in Malaysia and can even be won in claw machines.

What’s neat about Grimlock here is that he’s not a KO as far as I can tell. The KO makers just went “Bro, let’s mash those egg toys and Transformers together then sell em!”. Grimlock is an original mold as far as I can tell.

Grimlock is made of pretty decent plastic. It’s not Hasbro level good but it’s not fragile or shampoo bottle plastic. His dino mode looks pretty great and even can be posed a bit. The molding and paint is surprisingly extensive. His egg mode… is Grimlock folded up.

This is an interesting KO and concept. I need to look into the official Hatch ‘n Heroes. I also need to look and see if there’s more egg Transformers available.
