Quick Look Review: Transformers Rescue Bots Megabots Elite Rescue Heatwave

Big red brick.

I got this guy real cheap for my cousin. He was 4 years old at the time. Heatwave was RM50 ($12.50) used. He was missing his ladder and water guns though.

Spoiler alert: My cousin didn’t care. My cousin loves Heatwave.

The question now is… will I?

Robot mode

Man, Heatwave is a big boi. Tall, chunky and bright red. No wonder my cousins love him!

He looks like a retro robot. Like one out of the 50s or 60s with his hard squares, rectangles and triangles.

Heatwave has no posability. None. He can split his legs wide but that’s more for the transformation.

You know what he does have though? A snapping claw! That things like a fidget spinner. It’s super addictive to deploy. That’s coming from me, the fully grown man child.

Vehicle mode

Heatwave has a very good vehicle mode. This is what surprised me the most. He’s got no robot kibble anywhere. Not even on his underside.

He’s feels so solid in this mode. Like a literal brick. Seriously, I think you’d hurt someone if you threw this at them. That’s no fun. What is fun is rolling him around on all 6 of his huge functioning wheels.

Closing

To answer the question, yeah. I love Heatwave.

You shouldn’t be surprised though. I loved the Hyper Flip Bumblebee and almost all of the One Step Changers I got.

I’d highly recommend Heatwave for younger kids. And for adults who want a change of pace from the usual “serious” figures.
