Transformers Prime Cyberverse Legion Cliffjumper Review

Scorpion King.

Man, getting Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to voice a character on a Transformers cartoon? They must have great things in store for Cliffjumper!

Yeah, nevermind.

Vehicle mode

This is about as badass as Legends car can get. Cliffjumper’s a muscle car with horns on the hood. The fact that Hasbro bothered to sculpt and paint the horns makes me happy. Speaking of paint, the only paint apps missing are on the side exhausts. Aside from that, everything is molded and painted nicely. Another thing that’s great is that there’s no robot mode kibble anywhere. Even the underside is relatively clean.

For playability, you can put up to three 3mm weapons on Cliffjumper in car mode. He also rolls very nicely on all four wheels.

Transformation

It’s a really simple but very effective transformation. Of note is that while the Prime RID Deluxe used faux kibble for the robot chest, the Legion figure uses the actual car windshield.

Good on you, little one.

Robot mode

Among the Legion figures released for Prime, Cliffjumper looks the most accurate in robot mode. He looks good. He’s got a great amount of molded and painted detail.

Aside from looking great, Cliffjumper has great articulation. The only thing missing is posability at the head. He’s got ball-jointed shoulders, ball-jointed elbows, ball-jointed hips, hinged knees and ball-jointed feet. The rotation at the elbows is a bit limited but that’s still a lot of posability for an official Legends/Legion figure.

Oh yeah, DOTM and Prime Cyberverse figures were special. They made a big improvement to the Legends/Legions figures. They can hold 3mm weapons! Cliffjumper’s is a pretty cool looking translucent red sword. He can hold it like a sword… or like a gun. Yeah, don’t make him hold it like a gun. That’s dumb.

Toy or collectible?

Regardless of if you’re a kid or an adult, if you have even the slightest interest in Legends Transformers you should get Cliffjumper. He’s one of the best Legend/Legion figures ever!

I don’t know how much he costs nowadays though. I haven’t seen Cliffjumper for sale in a while.

Closing

Huh, I didn’t think I’d be so fond of a Legends/Legion figure back then but Legion Cliffjumper ended up being one of my favourites from the entire Prime toyline.

I recommend everyone give him a shot! Cliffjumper is a great Transformer. If only he could move his head, he’d be as good, if not better, than some Deluxes.

PS: Alternate review titles: Hobbs, The Tooth Fairy, Hercules, Kevin Hart’s bestie…
