The left leg.
Long Haul has been loved since his first figures were released in the ROTF line way back in 2009. Rampage… not so much. His Deluxe figure was the bad kind of weird and not too many people liked it.
His Legends figure on the other hand… well, you’ll see.
Vehicle mode

It really is true that the Bayverse figures put the focus on the vehicle modes huh? Rampage looks great in bulldozer mode! He’s well detailed and there’s barely any obvious robot mode kibble on display. Not even on the underside!
He’s not very functional though. The shovel is fixed in place and can’t be moved. Rampage has tiny wheels under his treads, so he can roll around though.
Leg mode

Like Long Haul, Rampage makes a very nice leg. It’s very distinct from the bulldozer and robot mode. It also has a big footprint. I think the treads as feet look cooler than the dump truck bed as feet on Long Haul.
Transformation
It’s a simple transformation like most Legends figures but because of the fact Rampage has a limb mode and a unique robot mode it ends up being quite interesting. Turning Rampage from bulldozer to robot mode basically means stretching the bulldozer out and doing a head reveal.
The transformation to leg mode is also clever and hides pretty much all the robot mode bits.
Robot mode

Now… Rampage is a bit of a mess. He doesn’t have hands. Missing hands usually don’t bother me but this case does. If you’re missing hands, you should have weapons to replace them. Rampage doesn’t. They’re just the bulldozer treads. I guess they could count as his whips but still!
Other than that, Rampage is actually pretty cool. He’s like a less extreme Hightower. He’s definitely monstrous and weird but he’s cool looking to me. Your mileage may vary of course. But the fact he’s basically a killer pogo stick with a head is awesome to me.
For posability, Rampage can look down due to the transformation and his arms are on ball joints. You can also put his treads down to use as feet or leave them flipped up. That counts as posability, I guess?
Toy or collectible?
Legends toys are in general better for kids. I’d get Rampage for a kid. They’d either love or hate him though. Proceed with caution.
Adult collectors might get a kick out of the weirdness of Rampage in robot mode though. I know I do.
Once again. If you want Devastator, whether you’re a kid or adult, you’ll need Rampage as a leg.
Closing
Rampage is worth having even if you don’t want Devastator. He’s not as unique as Hightower or as good as Scrapper but he’s still gonna stand out among your Legends figures.
He’s also an amazing leg for Devastator!
