Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen Legends Long Haul Review

The right leg.

Long Haul is the most popular Bayverse Constructicon based on all the love he gets. It’s probably because his ROTF Voyager figure and his ROTF FAB figure were great fun.

I’m not too sure about the Legends figure though…

Vehicle mode

Long Haul is little green dump truck. It’s innocent looking and really cute. Kinda like a Playskool toy. There’s no robot kibble in this mode on all sides including the underside. Kudos for that Hasbro!

His only functionality in this mode: His wheels roll. His dumper can’t pour out anything.

Leg mode

Long Haul is a very good leg. The leg mode is very distinct from the other two modes unlike Scrapper and Hightower. Also, the foot is huge relative to the size of the leg so that’s good for stability.

Transformation

Like all Legends he’s quite simple to get from vehicle mode to robot mode. I do have to say the transformation to get Long Haul to become a leg is genius though.

Robot mode

Here’s where things go a bit off. Long Haul had one of the nicer Bayverse robot designs and they were translated nicely into his bigger toys. On the Legends figure, something got lost in translation.

Long Haul is broadly accurate to the movie design. It’s just he looks so derpy. It’s kind of cute. He’s not a strong, mindless brute of a killing machine. He’s just a lovable idiot who wants a hug.

To bad he can’t hug anyone. His articulation is atrocious even by Legends standards. He can’t rotate his arms forward or T-pose. His arms go in front of his body and bend away from the body to the sides for the transformation. His legs are ball-jointed at the hips. That’s all.

Toy or collectible?

Long Haul has a good dump truck mode, a great leg mode and a disappointing robot mode. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone as a standalone figure.

Of course, you need him to complete Legends Devastator. So whether you’re a kid or an adult collector, if you want Devastator, you need Long Haul.

Closing

It’s a shame that Long Haul isn’t as good as Scrapper or as weird as Hightower. He’s just not a good Transformer outside of being a combiner.

However, he’s a great leg at the very least!
