Quick Look Review: Transformers Generation Two G2 Hero Megatron

He doesn’t need guns.

A G2 figure? For RM20 ($5)? And it’s Hero Megatron?!

But he’s missing his cannon and missiles.

Oh well, I can live with that.

Let’s take a look at this oldie!

Robot mode

Megatron is purple and roughly Deluxe sized. I would make the Barney joke but Beast Wars Megatron is a thing. Even though he’s decidedly not a brick, he’s a chunky one. Seriously, he’s proportioned like a buff 90s hero. Which I guess he is.

Huh.

Megatron here is much more posable than I thought he was going to be. Really, he’s only missing thigh swivels and up/down at the head. But at least he can move his head. Real talk though, he’s not out of place with CHUG figures. That’s impressive for a figure more than 20 years old.

Vehicle mode

Megatron is a tank… with no cannon or guns. Well, if you were wondering what Hero Megatron would look like if he had no artillery whatsoever… now you do. Well, he’s got tiny wheels under his tracks so he still rolls. So that’s something.

He’s purple and his tracks are blue. He’s very G2 and he’s very interesting to look at.

Closing

Yeah, I’m definitely gonna get a complete version of this mold at some point. If I’m not mistaken, there’s this guy, RID Bludgeon and Robot Masters Two Face Convoy available. Problem is that all of those are rare and hard to come by.

Problems, problems, problems.
