Do I really need the Studio Series Ratchet?

As far as I can tell, he’s basically this mold with better proportions but a worse backpack.

Let’s take a quick look at the prologue of Studio Series Ratchet, Dark Of The Moon Deluxe Ratchet.

Robot mode

I don’t know why, but I think this Ratchet looks really friendly compared to the ones that came before him. I’m confused as to why, but it’s a good thing for the Autobot team doctor.

His posability is good with the only things missing being a waist swivel and wrist swivels.

I’m missing one kneecap on Ratchet and his sweet MechTech saw blade. His MechTech weapon is usually thought of as one of the best MechTech weapons released, so that’s kinda sad for me.

Vehicle mode

He’s a lime green ambulance that has a lot of ground clearance and rolls nicely. Paint and detail are plentiful.

A nice touch is he has one MechTech port on his spare wheel but also two that can be deployed on the side of the vehicle. When not in use, they hide away inconspicuously.

Closing

I’m annoyed I don’t have his kneecap and I’m bummed I don’t have his weapon.

So the question now is, should I get a replacement DOTM Ratchet or just go get a shiny new SS Ratchet?
