Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen Gravity Bots Optimus Prime Review

Cute, cuddly, fat boy.

It’s been 10 years since Revenge of The Fallen was out in theaters. You feeling old too?
I remember not being particularly interested in the Gravity Bots when they first came out, but still being impressed by how they transformed.
It’s been 10 years since he was released, so looks like it’s time for a nostalgic hit.

Vehicle mode

Fat and dumpy. Short and stout. Cute and cuddly.
And it rolls on all 6 wheels!
Even though his legs are exposed for all to see, I still think it’s a good alt mode.

Transformation (Gimmick)

Here’s where the magic happens.
You put him on his robot mode feet, he automatically transforms into robot mode.
You put him on his robot mode back, he automatically transforms into vehicle mode.
Transformed by the power of gravity.
Truly magical.

Robot mode

He’s still fat and dumpy.
He’s still short and stout.
He’s still cute and cuddly.
He lacks any posability.
But really is that any reason to pout?

Toy or collectible?

Both. I recommend him to both kids and collectors. He’s endlessly fun and addictive to transform for kids. He makes a good desk toy to fidget with for adult. He can get a bit pricy, but being a toy from 2009 he has weight, heft and quality to him. Worth every penny.

Closing

He’s a unique toy that may not appeal to everyone. I only got him recently, but I’m so happy with him. I wish I got him when he first came out.
