Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen Legends Optimus Prime Review

Short and sweet.

Yup. He’s a Legends class figure after all, so he’s a tiny, fun size Transformer.

The first movie Legends Optimus Prime was an utter train wreck. Is this guy any better?

You probably already know the answer to that. That first Legends figure….. *pukes*

Vehicle Mode

Of all the things I’m impressed with, it’s the fact that all six of his wheels roll. I’m an idiot. But if it turns into a truck or car, you gotta be able to roll it right?

Also, his proportions are a significant improvement over his predecessor. Main improvement being, he has both smokestacks now. His painted details are also quite good for a Legends class figure.

Transformation

It’s fun. It’s addictive and fun. And he has significant advantage over most modern Optimus toys. His windshield chest isn’t a fake, it’s his actual windshield.

Amazing.

Robot Mode

He’s instantly recognisable as Optimus Prime. He lacks a significant amount of detail because he’s a Legends figure. But he’s still a triumph at this size.

He’s got decent posability for his size. Ball jointed shoulders and bending elbows. Ball jointed hips with forward and backward moving feet. He’s expressive for his size.

Also, he can combine with ROTF Legends Jetfire.

If I can ever find one….

Toy or collectible?

Toy. He’s fun, easy to transform and pretty durable.
And. And. He’s cheap. He’s been repainted an infinity billion times, so you could probably get him for a dollar or less at this point.
As a collectible, he’s Optimus Prime man. You need him for that alone. At least one. Or every single version of this mold available.

Closing

He’s a good Transformer. He’s a good Optimus Prime. He’s a great Legends figure.
It would surprise me if you don’t have one of him at this point. It would surprise me if anyone didn’t have one of him at this point. But if you don’t have him, get him.

He’s good.
